LSU Takes Early Lead
In the highly anticipated SEC tournament matchup, LSU appeared poised to extend their undefeated streak after scoring the first run of the game. However, the top-ranked Tennessee Volunteers rallied to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory.
Tennessee's Comeback
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Tennessee's bats came alive. Drew Gilbert tied the game with a sacrifice fly, and Seth Stephenson followed with a go-ahead RBI single. Tennessee added another run in the sixth inning on a wild pitch, extending their lead to 3-1.
LSU answered back with a run in the seventh inning, but Tennessee held on for the win when Jorel Ortega grounded out into a double play with the bases loaded in the ninth inning.
